iMate

Is there a product that allows 2 iPods to synchronzie? Simply a cable with connectors to connect 2 ipods together and a protocol unit in the middle that would work out the communication details, such as OS compatability, too much data etc.
Probably not possible, but a friend asked and initially I though it was "stupid question", but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense!

This would be awsome, but completely against Apple's "Do not steal music" mantra. There is nothing like this that I know of.

i like the sound of iShare better... :)

would be a cool product though.. and if it weren't $299 (cuz all 3rd party companies overcharge for ipod gear) id buy one...

it probably is possible but only with a firmware update and i highly doubt Apple would allow this since it would cause a problem with record company's.

ed.......i asked this questions months ago. unfortunately there is no such device just yet. probably never will be from a 3rd party hardware manufacturer as it will be illegal (illegal music transfers). but some one will figure out a hack hopefully sooner than later.

welcome to the lounge.

ive been hanging around the lounge for a while, just never decided to post or get an account.

Anyway, i also highly doubt a hack will ever be created as it is only possible via a firmware mod and the soucrecode for the firmware is kept firmly under raps.

WiBu.......

1) your doubt has nothing to do with the ability of some maniac to reverse the code and make his own mods

enjoilax...what has been posted before?

but what crazy person would want to put linux on his ipod that at present, has less features and is highly unstable compared to stock apple.
