Doubled charged for iTunes Music!
Hi gang,
I've been getting double charged for iTunes music. I downloaded an album and received an email receipt a few days later. Then a few days later the same thing. I sent iTunes an email and they send me an auto generated email saying they would contact me in 48 hours....still waiting to hear from them.
Today I noticed that I was charged for the weekly FREE download song. Hello.....it was a free download.
Has then been happening to anyone else?

Have you tried this link? http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/windows/downloads.html
I was able to get a fairly prompt response from it.

That's why I dont download thru iStores! I prefer to buy a CD and then rip it off.
I agree, but i have also gotten 2x reciepts from the iTMS, check if your CC was charged twice.

Yes, I actually checked my CC and it had two debits. Thats when I decided to go to Apple.com support but haven't heard back from them. They say that if I re-apply my question to them about the double charge that it will "possibly delay our response to your inquiry".
I was kinda hoping that they would take care of it soon.
But what about downloading the weekly free song and being charged for it. Ever happened to you guys.

There are a couple of other threads on this, but it appears that there's a lag between when Apple posts the song link on the iTMS home page and the time they update their back end database to make the song free. You'd think they'd employ good coding practices, but they don't seem to.
The couple of times it's happened to me, I've been able to catch it because I use the shopping cart rather than the immediate purchase option. In both cases, it said 99 cents in the cart, so I knew something was wrong.
If this is a continuing problem for you, you might want to consider turning on the shopping cart.
