a temporary/good case

well, im going on vacation to Florida next wednesday, and i'm caseless besides my ziplock bag.

since i will have no time for shipping from any internet sites , i found some cases in local stores' websites.

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-7/qid=1098735482/ref=sr_1_7/602-8915735-7729462?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B0001ANA7Y

can anybody tell me if this one's good for my 4g 20gig?

i just need a fairly cheap case but i need it to protect pretty well against scratches.

i'm going to get an iskin evo2 later on, so i wouldnt get a jamjacket as a cheap temporary.

and im going to get an oPod case later on, too, so i wont go too heavy.

any suggestions?

note: this is going to be generally a TEMPORARY case for vacation, cause i dont have time to order the real one's i want.

Some (not all) Target stores carry the $24.95 Belkin flip case, which is leather and nylon with Velcro. I bought one recently, and it works fine with my 20 gig 4G. A suction cup holds the iPod against a padded metal cradle, providing some shock absorption. You can access the connectors without opening the case, but you need to flip down the front of the case to get to the wheel.

I've heard (elsewhere on this forum) that some of the soft plastic cases gum up the finish of iPods in the long term. I have no idea whether that's true with neoprene, or with the suction cup in my flip case.

if you only want a case for now to stop it from getting scratched, not protect it, just cut a couple holes for the connector and headphone port in the plastic covering that came with the ipod. thats what i did. on scratching yet, as i am going to order a contour showcase soon.

Crumbs. I paid nearly $30 for that Belkin at Circuit City and Target are now selling it for under $20. What a bargain!! It's a great case. And, for those who complain that you have to open it to access the click wheel, if you fold the cover over and put the case on a desk or table, you've got yourself a brilliant little iPod holder that sits at a nice angle.

Actually I'm not--that's the overpriced Apple case. The Belkin case has a flip down front that's normally held in place with Velcro, and the iPod is held in place with a suction cup and a padded metal cradle. It only costs $24.95 at Target stores, and is also available on the Web from othe places at a discount.
Note: The Filp case works fine for 3G iPods and for my 20 Gig 4g iPod. Accoding to another post I've read it may not fit a 40 Gig 4g iPod, which means it wont fit the color iPod either.
