looking for a case, maybe extremity
is this case good? I really don't know what to get case wise...I was reading about the contour, but in the review it says that if you drop it it falls apart...I don't like that.
Can you use a an fm transmitter with the extremity?
how bout any case recommendations in general...I'm lost

There certainly are a lot of case options out there, and they all seem quite different.
I just picked up an Xtremity yesterday at my local Apple Store. See my recent post on it for more details. Too early to tell if it's poor, good, great or otherwise. Most online reviews of it have been positive but not as positive as the Contour Showcase. Your information would seem to be wrong, at least it would seem to not match up with the reviews and stories out there. I had a Showcase for my 3G and did drop it once, and did not damage the iPod.
The Xtremity seems to be worth it IF your needs match up to its strengths and not its weaknesses. The same could be true of any case. So it's best to ask yourself what you need out of a case. Belt clip? complete coverage? Visibility of the inner 'Pod? Toughness? Scratch resistance or shock protection? Mounting in places other than your belt? Ease of removal or insertion?
All of these are going to factor in to which case is IDEAL for you. But poke around the forums, you'll see a lot of names come up: Contour's Showcase and iSee, iSkin's eVo and Lajo's eXo, Marware's Sportsuit, Vaja. In the end you probably can't go too far wrong with these tried-and-true solutions.
