I have a weird Problem

I need help! Whenever i turn on my ipod from sleep or when i charge it i turn it on and when i chose an album and song it skips for a while and i turn it off and i still hear it trying to skip songs. then when i turn it on again it skips and then it will be working fine. it it really annoying how that happens and im about to send it to the best buy and get it serviced but if its something that can be fixed please help me out! thanks very much guys! What I did when I had the problem:
-Reimport the song and if that didn't help
-Convert the song. Mine was from mp3 to AAC. This solved my problem.
If all fails, 'restore' the iPod, info here (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60983) This will erase the iPod and set it to factory settings. Have your music backed up so that you can transfer it to the iPod after.
