Seriously, I don't understand how people believe a $25 case to be expensive when they spend $250+ on an ipod. Twenty-five dollars really isn't that much more of an investment.

In regards to the comparison between those two cases, I'd pick the iskin. The silicon wrapping protects the ipod and the plastic screen cover prevents the screen from becoming scratched. The only downside is its attraction for dust. I personally own an iskin and I don't really mind the dust. On my sonic iskin, I barely notice it. On a carbon, however, just go figure.

The other case you mentioned I don't think has a screen cover, though I may be wrong. In addition, the wrapping is not silicon. It all depends on preference. Some cases have different options than others, so just choose the options you want, and purchase the case that has them.

First I tried the "free" route, cutting a rectangle from some clear film originally bought to protect my motorbike's gas tank and wrapping it neatly around my Mini. It looked great and the color was visible but once encased, the iPod was nearly impossible to remove from the stock Apple belt clip and I couldn't attach a lanyard.

Next came a silicone case, but the one I got made the iPod too fat to fit into Apple's belt clip or armband, and was difficult to remove because the rubberiness stuck to the iPod. This provided more protection, though, as I found out when it bounced across my desk. It would have been fine if I never intended to remove it from the sleeve or use my clip & armband. A case that came with its own clip would have been a better choice.

I also wanted something a little more businesslike since it would be seen at work and "dressier" occasions.

I returned the rubbery case and compared nylon & leather cases for weeks. I could see myself spending $20 over and over, collecting cases that would all wind up being unsatisfactory in some way. It had to look good with my other accessories, be durable and easy to carry, provide protection and allow reasonable access to the controls.

Although it was a splurge, I settled on a suede case by Coach. The fact that they kept selling out probably played a part in the decision. I'd already experienced the thrill of finding a pink mini during a time when they were scarce. Rarity only increased its appeal, so that when it finally became available, I pounced!

This won't do for workouts, for which I put the bare iPod in the Apple armband and cringe at the thought of scratches. The case quest continues...

Good luck in your search for the right case. If I hadn't fallen for the Coach, I would have gotten the Prie or the Sena.

Go for an iSkin. There probably the best constructed and are worth the money you pay for them.

I have several skins, and they're all satisfactory. IMHO, the DLO Jam Jacket at $9.99 is just as good as the exo or iSkin.

That said, I just ordered the Sena leather case. I'm kind of sick of cleaning the skins (they attract all sorts of lint and gunk) and think the Sena will best match how I use the mini. With shipping, the Sena is $35. You can go much higher. For example, the Vaja shipped is $87.
