book ends early - BMW
I have successfully created multi-CD books squashed into one AAC file that bookmarks properly in iTunes and on my iPod.
When I play it through my BMW iPod adapter it gets some random time into the book and stops, resets the bookmark to the beginning and starts the next track.
Any ideas out there?

Does it play alright through the ear phones?
How long is each "track"? Maybe there is an issue with the length of individual tracks using the BME adapter.

I haven't checked it with headphones. I will test it, but I suspect it will do the same. I'll report back. I can scroll through the book normally and where ever I leave it, it picks up the next time.
One of the books is about 12 hours and the other shows on the list as 49 days but is really about 20 hours. In order to build the file I ripped the CDs to MP3, joined them and then re-ripped to AAC. I ran the "Make Bookmarkable" script and changed the suffix to m4b . I haven't found a program to join AAC files yet. I used a mp3 file checker on the joined file and it checked out before the second rip. The time is correct on the mp3.
I'm wondering if maybe there is something about the 20 minute buffer size in the iPod.
