Happy with Monster iCarplay and Tune Dok

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. Hi Folks,

Just wanted to give a brief update on how my new Monster iCarplay is working with my 4G 20GB.

Hook up was a breeze, and the wires aren't too difficult to position in my 2003 Nissan Altima (wrapped excess around the entry point of charger into outlet. The attachment is through the dock connector port on the bottom of the ipod, rather than through the top like the iTrip.

Since the default setting for the iCarplay is 88.1, I gave that a try first, and voila!, it worked very well with that station on my car.

Before I purchased the iCarplay I was worried about not having enough options, only 10, but these low numbers seem pretty good, as a few other stations also worked.

I am located in Jersey City, NJ, just across the river from NYC, and had no troubles. The reception is as clear as one could expect from a FM transmitter, and more then reasonable for a car trip. Had a nice trip out into the "country" and had no problems throughout. I am no super audiophile, but I really enjoyed the sound, and didn't experience much static.

Also nice is the fact that it continuosly charges the iPod, killing two birds with one stone, not bad for a $55 piece.

Sitting in my cup holder, is now the Belkin TuneDok, which for about $13 from J&R is well worth it, and holds the ipod rather securely with the suction type grip. I am not sure if any case/skin will fit into the Tune Dok, as I keep mine naked. One nice thing is that you can adjust the angle of the ipod, going from nearly vertical through nearly horizonatal, which I expect for some cars is very important. It is easy to run the iCarplay connection up through the bottom of the TuneDok and there is even a place to secure the wire.

All and all, I am happy with my two purchases, and thanks to everyone for writing so many good reviews.
