input adapters...

i have a 2001 jetta with a radio that im pretty sure has an aux line in, i plan on buying the sik-imp to hook up my ipod to the stereo, but i was wondering if i can just hook it straight up to the back of the radio or if i still need to buy the adapters, the only reason i ask is they are a little expensive and after shelling out the 300 for an ipod i don't like paying 60 bucks for some wires

It all depends if the Aux In has RCA jacks or not. My Blaupunkt required a $12.95 adapter to add RCA jacks to one of the CD changer ports.

on my old car i just used a lead straight into the aux input. I found the music was poor quality so eventually I set up the dock in my car so I had pre-amp line out quality. Sounded great. (I did have a power input and had my ipod grounded to prevent a ground loop interfering with sound quality, but if you do not wish to power it up I think it should be okay)
