like other silicon pieces, I think they do not provide as much comfort as foamies but they do provide better sound isolation.justgotmyipod at 2007-11-15 15:26:33 >

Better sound isolation than foamies? I don't agree with that. They're close, but definitely not better.Baron: only you can decide what's comfortable or not. For $10 it's worth it to get the tri flanges and try them. Personally, they're the only tips I use with the E3.

I bought those two weeks ago and got'em a week later. When I tried them it definately provided a better isolation than small ear caps(not foamies) but wasn't too comfy. Also, it kinda sticked out when I tried them. Maybe it's because I have a small ear entrances but IMO foamies are way to go.Oh, and, you might wanna buy some more extra formies from there website.

Note: The E3c and E5 triple flange tips are meant to be cut to fit you. Different people will want different 'stalk' lengths.thedodgyguy at 2007-11-15 15:29:26 >

You don't have to trim the "stalk" to make it fit, but it may fit better if you do. It's just one of those things that you might want to experiment with.
Me, I trimmed both the stalk length (to lessen the bass, and improve the clarity) and I removed the smallest "flange". This is now my favorite tip for my E5, although the isolation my "double-flange" tips provide is less than foamies...but the "double-flange" tips are reusable pretty much indefinitely (with a cleaning from time-to-time), unlike the foamies which need to be replaced eventually.
