Sony MDR-E828 Vs MDR-E828LP

I was at my friends house, and I was listening to his Ear-buds, and I was very impressed. He let me borrow them for a few days to test them out. On the plug where you connect it to the iPod they say MDR-E828, I've been looking around online and all I can find are MDR-E828LP, are they the same headphones, they just didn't write LP on the connector? So what I really want to know is:

Is there a difference between the MDR-E828, and the MDR-E828LP, or did they just shorten the number to fit it on the connector? Thanks

They're almost certainly the same. Sony uses the letters at the end to designate the type of plug. LP = L-shaped plug, SP = straight plug.

As i remember, there is no MDR-E828SP existence. The no cord of the MDR-E828LP are not too long at all. It's around 3 feet.
