Shure repair turnaround time (E2c)?

Howdy!

After 9 months of bliss with my E2c's, the connection is shot. Where the cord goes into the stress relief thing on the plug, something's hosed. At first it would static sometimes, but then by the end of the day, it was almost impossible to hold just right to get both channels to work.

Honestly, I think it has to do with the case they provide. I've seen no way to put the 'phones in there that doesn't bend at an extreme angle. Once they're repaired/replaced, I'll just store them in the case with the plug hanging out...

So I'm in France, but Shure told me to mail them to the depot in the US since I bought them in the US. Done and done, although the shipping price for a real package was so expensive it was safer for me to chance it in a cardboard envelope designed for documents (the weight and size are perfect for the 'phones).

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone's had any repairs done with Shure? If so, how long did it take for them to ship back after receiving them? I see no way they are going to repair this, I'm sure I'll just be shipped a new pair.. but either way I don't care.

Leaving for a long trip in Italy in a couple of weeks now, hoping to have them back in time -- I did request that they mail them back here (since I went to the expense of mailing to the US), and hoping they could do a quick turnaround.

I sent them in with about 3 or 3.5 weeks before I leave on my trip. I figured 1 week to get there, 1 week to get back, so they have a full week to do what they need to do.. here's hoping!

I hope I don't have to buy some crappy phones, I'll be taking some loong train rides, and would suffer greatly without my E2's!
