Monster cable for stereo connection
Hi guys...I just found out something and I wanna share with all you folks. As you know the monster iCable is really popular for connecting your iPod to your home entertainment system. Well, I found an alternative monster cable which does the same thing but USD10 cheaper. Its what monster have been selling all these while for mp3 player connection and all before iPod came out. Im not sure if there is a significant difference between these 2 but they sure look the same on paper. Go check this out. Model : MBL MCON-2M.

I was thinking of getting this myself if there is no difference. I think its just Monster Cable's marketing strategy to get more money by mentioning iPod in the iCable.

Thats the one I have, but I thought it disapeared when the iCable came out. I agree they are identical except for color and hidden behind my receiver anyways.
Very good refind. $29 to $19 is significant.

Yeah the colour is slightly none iPod. But I dont really care about that as the cables would be hidden anyway. I wont be leaving the cables dangling all over the place. Also my cabinet is black and so is my entertainment system. So its all well for me...hehe.

Its quite difficult to find these cables. Not many left but I somehow found it in one of the shops near my place. Im sure monster cable would have stop producing these as to promote the iCable.

chances are, unless you have a really high-end home theater system and really good ears, you won't be able to tell the difference between the $20 monster cables and $5 wal-mart patch cables. You are loosing more sound by compressing the file than you are by using a cheaper cable.
Monster cables are good, no doubt, but they are overrated and overpriced. I know, I own several sets.

Well...i will let you know the performance once I get it all hooked up to my system...i would say my system is mid-high end. Lets see how the performance is.

I just tested the monster cable and compared it with the Acoustic Research cable. My verdict......MONSTER CABLEs.
These cables are awesome. The Monster Cables produced a clearer and soothing sound. REALLY REALLY NICE. The Acoustic Research was not exactly that bad. But puting it side by side with the Monster Cable, it just doesnt sound good anymore. The sound reproduction using the Acoustic Research cables were more muddy I would say. Clarity on the Monster Cable were awesome.
My take: Pay the extra $7 and grab the Monster Cable. The Monster Cable is also longer (7ft) compared to the AR which was only 3ft.
