Speakers: Portable vs. Mains
I got my iPod as a solution to the problem of carrying myriad CDs when I wanted to listen to music on the bus. I'm delighted with my iPod mini, but I'd like the ability to listen to music out loud.
The problem is, I want something portable I can listen to with my friends at lunch, but also something I can plug in at home and listen to.
Is there any set of speakers that meets my needs? I'd considered the iMmini, but I don't want to have to use batteries at home.
Help!

I just received an IMMini that I'd ordered, and it came with an AC adapter. Not too bad. Bass breaks up a little, but it sounds really good for the size.

I actually got the IMmini for Christmas (I haven't checked back here in a while) and it's fine: it's great for travel or class parties, but also for using at home.
My only complaint is that it vibrates noticably on the low notes, 'Cave' and 'Heart-Shaped Box' have to be played at extremes of volumes. Oh well...

I got the Logitech MM22 speakers for Mothers Day and they are great. They are pretty cheap too (not saying my gift was cheap :D ) but are inexpensive speakers that sound pretty damn good.
They come with a travel case and AC adaptor and also take 4 batteries so you can choose between the two.
It also comes with cradles for ipod, ipod photo & mini but unfortunately if you have a case on it so it doesn't fit in. You can turn the speakers to the side to sit the ipod in the middle so they look nice or do as I have done cause my ipod doesn't fit .. leave them folded on their side. Their is a review on them with heaps of photos.
They don't dock .. it's a headphone connection but I find the sound good.
