Question about setting up Airport Express with airtunes
Hi I have several questions about setting up Airport Express. First, my configuration is as following. I have a Cable Modem and a NetGear wireless router already. I use a wire to connect desktop (windows) and the wireless router. I have another laptop which has a 802.11b card in it.
My first question is that if it is possible for my laptop streaming to the Airport Express at the same time browsing internet? I do not want to disconnect my Desktop from the Netgear router. If the answer is yes, how?
My second question is that I read an article here about how to configure Airport Express by using cable connect Airport Express and the computer directly. My problem is that after I finished all the settings, I clicked on the ?save? or ?update? button, then it says error code (-4) can not write to the base station. I do not understand why.
Thanks.

you can surf and stream to the ape from your laptop wirelessly.
make sure you have the laptop (or desktop) plugged directly into the ape (ie no router, and not over wireless) when you are configuring it. also if you decide to use wep, you'll need to put a $ at the begining of your key (why no passphrase or wpa/psk is beyond me).
all these and more undocumented secrets can be found at the apple.com/support forums. don't waste your time calling tech support.
once you get it working, it's great. fscking maddening until then.
