My desktop speaker setup

Well I saw the inmotion's at the Apple store and thought they worked pretty well for a small setup. Only thing is, I listen to a lot of R&B and hip hop, so I wanted something with more bass. Now space wasn't a huge issue, but price and quality was.

I was at Best Buy trying to figure out some feasable options. I almost bought some $30 Sony desktop speakers when I walked over to the computer section and found some Altec Lansing setups. I thought about a $100 system, but the more I thought about it, thats what I have my full size stereo for (i can hook my iPod up to that).

So I ended up getting the Altec Lansing 2.1 setup. I came with 2 desk speakers and a subwoofer. When I got home, I thought this would only be mediocre, but after it was setup, it was loud enough to power my whole living room (15'x25'). I am almost tempted to go buy another set for my computer.

I recommend to anyone who isn't really concerned about traveling with speakers, although these are not that large. Best $50 speakers.

The one I bought was VS2121. Like I said before, these are not specifically made for the iPod, but work extremely well.

I also bought a new computer yesterday, and bought the upgraded Altec Lansing speakers for my computer. Same as the one I use for my iPod, but with a bigger subwoofer, dual desktop speakers and a control box (volume, bass, treble & sound field expander). They were $79, and model # VS3121.
