iTunes 4.5 + New Firmware
Okay... i've been reading the forums and some people are having these problems but I don't see any definte answers to them.
i've done the upgrades, after the latest firmware upgrade i plugged my ipod to the ac adapter to do the charge. now window xp won't show the ipod in. the updater says ipod can't mount. on occasions of resetting the ipod and doing the force firewire mode i'd been able to get the "do not disconnect" from the ipod but it doesn't register in itunes are the updater. it doesn't even show it as a removable hardrive no more.
the ipod works perfectly, it's just not hooking up to windows xp. i'm in the process of draining the ipod and recharging it and uninstall/reinstalling itunes.
Anyone think going back to older version of itune and firmware 2.1 might get it back to normal until apple fixes this (or is this just my problem?)
it's just annoying not being able to add/delete new music.

I ve the same problem since upgrading to 2.2
I use XP SP1, iTunes 4.5 (french). I can't mount this stupid iPod and it doesnt respond in itunes.
I formatted the pod and also my whole computer (for another reason). I reinstalled everything pefectly and.. it still doesnt work. For me, it's not the iPod cause i formatted it on my cousin's iMac and when it was mac formatted it works perfectly. And other thing, when i uninstall itunes, then run the updater (2.2) everything works perfectly.
Win also tells me that the iPod driver isnt installed :/

I also had the problem of Windows XP not recognizing my iPod and the only thing that has worked consistently to fix the problem was to completely delete the drivers from the device manager and reinstall them from the installation cd. My laptop has been recognizing my iPod again *knocks on wood*.
