PLEASE HELP! Songs wont show on ipod

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. The other day I was taking an album off of my ipod using the latest version of ephpod. I think i distconnected the ipod before I was instructed to. When i went to play a song, I found that no songs show up under artists, albums or songs. I have a 2nd generation, 20Gb ipod. It says i have 18Gb used, however, I can not access any of the songs. When i plug th eipod back in I can use it as a external disk, however, neither itunes, xplay, nor ephod will show the songs. Could someone please help me to get the songs to show again, as I don't have them backed up... stupid( I desperately need a larger hard drive).

Has anyone gotten back to you yet?

I am experiencing the same problem. This happened to me once before and I was able to fix it by rebooting my PC, reconnecting and then resynching the ipod.

This time when I try to open the iPod with ephPod or xPlay, the program freezes and will not recognize my pod. My firewire card recognizes the iPod as a drive. I still can navigate and play my tunes through windows, but my database appears empty on the pod itself.

I'm really hoping there's a workaround aside from doing a restore. I'd hate to loose all the music that I've transferred as I don't have enough space to backup all of the music I've encoded.

Also, if that is my only option, how can I do a restore on a first generation iPod when the programs that interface with it will not recognize it although Windows does?

Please help us.

I am having the same problem, the songs wont show up on the ipod but when I connect it to my pc through ephpod it loads all the songs but then says "stream read error".
I can see all the songs through ephpod but I can't write to it, I get the cannot write to db file message (or something like that).

Anyone know how to fix it?
