What will happen if i connect my iPod to pc not having iTunes

Hi All,
What will happen if i try to connect my iPod(which has automatically update songs option enabled) to a pc which doesn't have iTunes installed on it.

Can I connect like this and use ephpod to trnasfer songs from iPod to my hard disk

Uh... nuthin' bad. I don't have iTunes, so far, I've dun ok.

So I will safely be able to copy files to and fro even without the iPod software installed?

Yes and no. You can drag an' drop the files thru explorer, but... you'll need some way to "tag" the files. EphPod, AnaPod, Xplay, to name a few. Have used all three, like the latest from AnaPod.
