iPod as a hard drive on a mac and PC

Sorry if this has been asked, I could not find anything about it using the search.

Just wondering my my Windows formatted iPod could be recognized by OSX. Not for syncing, but purely for using it as a portable hard drive and way of transfering things from a PC to a mac?

Yes, a Mac can access a Windows-formatted iPod no problem (not so with a Mac-formatted iPod on a Windows PC though).
