2 iPods on 1 computer?

I have a 2g 20GB ipod and am eargerly awaiting the arrival of my new 3g 40 GB! Today's the day!!

The wife will be getting the old one and here is my question:

Is there a problem with using 2 different ipods on 1 computer? I know I'll at least have to keep it off of the automatic update feature. (I have 26GB of music so we had to update via playlist with the 20GB one.)

Are there any file sharing barriers involved with iTunes? I also have music match to use if needed but I like itunes better.

Specifics: Windows XP, iTunes

Thanks in advance!

AFAIK - its no problem if you manual sync- been doing it for several weeks with my and my wife's Ipod. Whichever is plugged in is what shows up. Haven't had any issues. We both always manual sync anyway cause we don't use the library to house our tracks - they get burned to data cd/dvd for storage.

XP with firewire on Dell - hdds - 120-80-160 (external) 1.5gig ram

I am pretty sure iTunes will mount and both iPods will show at the same time as well, double deal! ..At least it works on my mac, haven't actually tried on my PC.

Haven't tried mounting both but I had no problem working with both ipods.

Thanks!

I just got my mini today; my wife's is due in about 3 weeks. We plan to use them on the same XP PC. When I first installed mine, I had to list the registration number from the back. When I get hers and put it in the cradle for the first time, what should I expect? Will it ask me to register it? I really want to use both on the same computer. Any advice would be great. Also, any tips on best bitrate, ACC, etc. would be great.

BTW - Capsfan -- I still have my ticket stubs from the first caps game EVER at Cap Centre (versus the LA Kings -- tie game, 1 to 1. I also have a puck we caught during the warm ups from that game on my desk!).
