**how do you delete on the go playlists from your ipod?**

hi,

i just got a new ipod a few days ago, and i've since transferred about 17 gigs onto it. i am, however, perplexed at how you delete on the go playlist 1, on the go playlist 2, and so on and so forth. also, i don't even know how i made 1, 2, 3...etc. what gives? i think i could see them when i autosynced in itunes, but now, i transfer manually, since i don't have the hard drive space on my computer for this music (i rip a cd, transfer to ipod, and delete from my PC's hard drive). i can't get rid of the on the go playlists on the ipod itself, unless (i suspect) i switch back to auto-update. and i obviously don't want to do that, since it will delete all of the songs on my ipod and replace them with the songs in itunes library. help!

Just go to the bottom of the on the go playlist on the iPod & you will see clear playlist>then go to clear & press enter aka the center button on the scroll wheel.

To delete them in iTunes just right click on the list & press clear.

i can only do that for the one on the go playlist. i apparently made "on the go 1" and "on the go 2" and there's no way to clear the songs out. ugh. any suggestions?

can go into windows explorer and delete the playlists file, then just create another one and name it playlists?

Clear the "on the go 1" and "on the go 2" playlists from iTunes (or whatever software you're using) and when you sync again they'll be removed from the iPod.

the on the go's will not show up in itunes unless i'm on autosync, and i don't want to do that because i have about 16 gigs of music on the ipod and deleted most of it from my computer's hard drive (they're still backed up on cds, but it's a HUGE hassle relabeling thousands of songs again). any more suggestions?

i basically moved the music i listen to onto the ipod from my computer, so what if i deleted all of the music on my computer, copy/pasted the ipod music back onto the hard drive into itunes, and then finally auto-synced again? would that work?

since u are manually syncing ur iPod cant u just select these on-the-go copies and press the delete button? Make sure u choose the playlists under the iPod source

that's the thing; when i manually transfer, none of the on the go playlists show up. not even the normal, un-numbered one.

GAH! that's it, i'm autosyncing, erasing everything, and starting over from scratch.
