Storing text lists on Ipod

I don't yet own an Ipod but am excited by the possibility to store my Outlook data on the Ipod as well as the music.
I also, however, want to store (and easily access) a listing of several thousand CDs.
Currently I do these things on an IPAQ
Can anyone tell me about the Ipod text file capabilities?

Yup, as long as the text file is less than 4k it can be stored on your iPod as a "Note" and read via the iPod's screen. And if it's larger than 4k, there are apps available that will automatically split the note into multiple notes. Check out the Downloads section of this site for more info.
