ipodrip wont select all?
Greetings,
I have just switched to a Mac and now I want to get my music from my ipod to iTunes. I got ipodrip so I could get the files off the ipod. I have about 32 gig worth of music to transfer. I open ipodrip and I can transfer 1 or 2 songs with no problem.
The problem I am having is when I try to select all the songs (command-A eg) it takes forever. I've waited over 45 minutes for it to finish selecting and nothing happens. Any idea why?
In other words, why can't I select all the songs to copy them all ta once? Any better ideas for how to get my songs from my ipod to my itunes directory?
FYI, I am new to the Mac so go easy!

Sorry, I can't help, but do you love your Mac? What kind do you have? I'm thinking of switching from Windows and Linux.

I have a Powerbook, 17inch. Just got it. Day 1 I didn't love it. There is definitely a learning curve to switching. Today has been much better. OS X is really great and I like the form factor of the Powerbook.
I struggled with the switch. I believe that both platforms are good and that you'll pay a bit more for Apple. I had no problems with Windows 2k -- very stable. That there is less software is also a bummer. I ultimately switched though because I wanted my $ to support a company that believes in the value of design and usability. Today I discovered Expose, got the Mac right onto a Wireless network, and configured the preferences so easily. There are a number of small usability niceties that I really appreciate.
So I guess the answer is that I like it, but I suspect I'll love it within the week!

The problem might be that your trying to transfer to many songs at one time. I don't have a Mac, I've got a PC, but I tried this with some software and experienced the same problem and found out looking through the Help Guide of the software that it will freeze when trying to transfer to much music at one time. I was tryiing to transfer over 2,500 songs. So what I did was transfer about 300 songs at a time.
This might be what's happening to you. Check the help guide of the software your using. Maybe it can't handle the large transfer.
