Volume Booster - REAL Volume Limit?

Hi,
i noticed that when i'm boosting over 45 (maybe 40) at somepoint the volume just stay the same, only the ipod bar is moving with no real affect on the volume.
is that becuase this is the REAL volume limit of the iPod?
