Received replacement iPod - not recognised by my iMac
I had a great experience yesterday at the Apple store in Houston - short version is that they replaced my frozen iPod 1 week after the warranty had expired. So I get home with it, admire it's un-scratched beauty, it's new iSkin rubber coating (to keep it nice) and plug it into my iMac. Ahhh, the beautiful sucking sound of 2300 songs filling the void on the pod. I scroll around with it and see that this one has a voice memos feature and a photo import feature. All cool. I see a new game that wasn't on mine before, solitare. OK.
Now I realise, that although the new pod works fine, my iSync doesn't recognise it and it doesn't show up as a drive when I open the "About This Mac" I click through and where I am suppose to add or remove devices to iSync, there is nothing showing up. Do I need to reinstall part of my software? Any other ideas?
Thanks folks.

Perhaps you need to enable the "Disk Mode" usage in the iPod Options? Do this in iTunes while your iPod is connected.

Pardon my ignorance but I can't find any iPod options. When I connect the iPod to the firewire, it pops up on the screen for a few seconds, checks for updates in the iTunes and then dissappears from iTunes and the screen.
I'm sure it is a simple thing I'm missing here, some disconnect in the brain but I'm old so forgive me. :-)

Ok, I poked around and found iPod options and set it for disc mode but iSync still doesn't recognise it. I'll try to figure this out and repost if this continues. Thanks.
