Concerning the manufacturing of the ipod

I was told that the hard drive used in the 3rd Generation ipods are made by Toshiba. Although Toshiba is a Japaneese company, the assembly of the ipod was in China. Since it was assembled in China, are the parts inside of it also made by companies in China?

Yes most of the parts are probably made in China. Just because Toshiba is a Japanese company doesn't mean they make all their products in Japan. They are probably making the harddrive in China because cost would be much higher to make it in Japan.
