erase all songs of a ipod

How do i delete all the songs of my ipod, with out touching the songs in itunes?

1-You can hook it up to the updater and click restore. It will erase everything on the iPod and reset back to its factory setting.-or-
2-Use software like ipodagent to transfer the songs back to the computer and delete them if you wish. This will remove the songs only and nothing else.

I've already worked it out but thanks alot. I went on itunes checked the songs i wanted and changed the settings to upload only the checked songs. And uploaded the songs this took off them all apart from a fewiggy108 at 2007-11-15 16:51:16 >
