Can I keep files on iPod that wont sync to iTunes?

I have some Bible teachings that I want to keep on my iPod, but I don't want them in iTunes.

Is there a way to sync the iPod and have it get new music but not touch the spoken word mp3's (bible teachings).

I just want the sync to ignore them once they are on there. Is that possible?

Yes! Just put the iPod on manual the next time you hook it up to iTunes. Then when you hook it up to iTunes, it will not auto sync. You can just drag-n-drop the new music onto the iPod.

or sync by playlist. have your bible on it's own playlist, and everything else in another playlist. When syncing by playlist, you can select which playlist to update.

When I actually get my iPod and my computer to talk, I will definitely try that? Being that this will be my firs sync, how do I set it to update by playlist?
