ACC clipping ?

Hi all
What i'm interested in finding out is , do ACC files suffer clipping like mp3's, at the moment i'm using mp3gain to change my files to eliminate the clipping, but i'm now thinking of converting my music to ACC, and would like to know if they suffer from this problem ? i'd also like to know can you alter the volume levels of ACC files like mp3s so they all play the same on ipod.

thanks...........

More than likely some files will suffer from clipping, whether you hear it or not might be a different story. You could always rip to WAV and apply WaveGain before encoding to AAC. It's like MP3Gain for WAV's.

Here (http://www.rarewares.org/others.html)

Thats only for clipping introduced by the encoder, if the clipping is contained on the original CD then there is nothing you can do about it.

i'd also like to know can you alter the volume levels of ACC files like mp3s so they all play the same on ipod.

Just enable the Soundcheck feature in the Settings page on your iPod. This will normalize all your AAC files without changing them physically.

Thanks for your reply, but I've heard that soundcheck really zaps the battery ! is there not a program that can normilize the files other than doing the wavgain conversion thing ?

thanks.........
