[help] Songs count discrepant betw Library and iPod
Hi all
Under iTunes, I have 3005 songs in the Library section.
But in the iPod itself, it says 2983.
How can I go about finding the missing tracks without eyeballing the entire Library list?
(For one I'm aware that I sometimes add songs to the Library, and decided to move its folder location *before* updating the iPod. This would sort of account for some of the missing tracks, but then I have also changed folder locations *after* updating the iPod.)
Thanks.

Ah, well, after 3-4 hrs spent weeding through exclamation marked entries, the books are now balanced.
:D
Some notes. It is apparently possible to have two song entries in the iTunes library pointing to the exact same source file. And for some reason, iPod is (sometimes?) smart enough not to be fooled by this accident, and decides to reduce it to one entry.
One for the Apple feedback: iTunes could do with some more thorough housekeeping routines. Even the minimal ability -- comparing Library and iPod song lists and finding the differences -- would be of great help. Other than that, it's a pretty solid, stable application for digital music.
