Burning Data Cds.....help!

I'm trying to back up some of my music files to a data cd. However all my burns have failed and I get this message.

UNKNOWN ERROR (4251)

Does anyone know what it means and if it can be corrected? I tried sorting by file type and reducing the burn speed, but that didn't work either.

Just for some background, I'm using iTunes 4.5 for Windows. I have a CD-RW drive and I was using a CD-R disc.

I searched the forum for this error message and couldn't find an answer for my question.

Try Edit>Preferences>Burning and clicking on mp3 cd instead of Data cd and see if this works.

Well if I was having problems burning audio or mp3 cds, I would have said so. I already had Data selected. Otherwise I would not have been burning a data cd.

Anyways, my old version of musicmatch did what I needed to do, so iTunes can suck it! :D

Can anyone help me - I've tried everything and I can't figure out what to do about not being able to burn an audio CD in iTunes 4.7 for Windows. I get "Unknown Error 4251" every time I try to burn to CD. I have tried changing speeds all the way down to 1X - nothing seems to work. It doesn't matter whether I use my Sony DRU-500A DVD-RW drive OR my Lite-On KTR-52327S CD-RW drive - they both give me the same message. I would be be very appreciative of any help on this. BTW, I was able to burn an mp3 data disc to DVD-RW on the same Sony drive recently with no problem.

Meinhard (or anyone else),

I've had similar problems with burning, though not consistently. Did you ever get a fix for this? I'm still looking . . .

Thanx

I'm having the same problem too, very frustrating!

This problem doesn't seem to be that uncommon, however, there don't seem to be any answers for getting it sorted out.

Has anyone out there solved this issue?

Thanks

I've had a similar issue since I moved up to the new version of iTunes - I get error messages most (but not all) times I try to burn cds (audio cds). The error message is unknown error (4450). anyone any ideas on a work around. It happens on all burning speeds (even down to x1). Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give me.
