Help With Importing CDs
Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. This question has probably been answered before.
I do need help. If I import a CD into itunes and it happens to put a Beatles CD in compilations, I obviously want to move it the Beatles folder. After I move it, the songs appear with asterisks in itunes. If I click on a song, it says it can't find the song so I have to show it where I have moved it to. If a CD has several songs on it, this could take quite a while. Is there an easy way to show itunes where you have moved a group of songs out of compilations to the appropriate folder. I have spent hours going song to song to correct the move info. Please help.
Thanks ahead of time.

# 1 Re: Help With Importing CDs
The fix depends on a question...do you let iTunes keep your music organized? Or do you have it set to manual? It sounds like you are letting iTunes organize things which works well for me. If that's the case, you should change things from within iTunes itself instead of moving things around the folders of your computer.
Doing things this way let's you fix things easy. If something shows up in the wrong place, it's real easy to just uncheck the "compliations" box on every song in the album (done all at the same time in one move by hi-lighting all the tracks in that album and then using get info and then saying "no" to part of a compliation).
That's worked for me on quite a few things that were mysteriously set to be part of a compliation from the CDDB when they clearly are not.
Hope that helps!
