Problem - iTunes doesnt get track lengths right
I've recently setup iTunes 4.1.1 on a new computer (running WinXP). The machine has a cd-rewriter and a dvd-rom. The machine is not currently online as I'm moving house soon so haven't bothered setting up a net connection for it yet (hence why I haven't upgraded it further yet).
I'm experiencing two problems which I'm hoping someone can help me with.
The first problem is that iTunes doesn't recognise the track lengths correctly for any cd I put in the cd-rewriter. When I attempt to save or playback the cd it makes a complete hash of it, jumping about, identifying tracks that should be 4 mins long as 50 mins long and others as completely non-existent. It does, however, recognise the right number of tracks for each cd. I initially thought this may be a problem with the cd drive but have opened up the same cd's in windows media player using the same drive and they have been indentified and played back fine.
The second problem is that iTunes isn't identifying the dvd-rom at all for playback/copying purposes. Again cd's put in this drive work fine when using media player.
I've tried reinstalling iTunes and this made no difference.
Anyone with any ideas? I'm more than a little puzzled!
Any help would be most gratefully received.
