"Most played" question

Just created a smart playlist to find out my most listened to tracks. The results I got I am sure do not correspond to what I've been listening to most often. Only had the Pod a few months and some of the songs listed I do not even recognise.
Dont no if the recent updates for pod and itunes have anything to do with it. Just wondering if anyone else has had similar experiences.
Actually, tried the same on the girlfriends pod, (which she updates on my PC) and she got similar results, in some cases the same songs, which she swears she hasnt listened to yet.

Thanks for any help

Can you post the criteria you used in this Smart Playlist? Something must not be correct.

as follows:
play count is greater than 5
25 songs selected by random, however the limit to box is not checked.
Live updating is checked

I think the "play count" refers to iTunes and not the iPod.

Play count is updated when you plug in the iPod, so its both added up.

As for your smart playlist, it wants to look like this...

Limit To [ 50 ] Songs Selected by [ Most Often Played ]
Live Updating

Thats all it needs. This is then your top 50 played tunes. Once in the playlist, check that it is sorted by play count by clicking on the tab at the top of the play count collum.

If this still appears to be wrong, then your iPod is having partys when your not there, or you iTunes and iPod software need reinstalling and resetting.
