in a state of panic
So i have decided to purchase an ipod...only before i do i wanted to organize my music folder and what not. I didnt realize that the songs i downloaded form napster are protected wma files, and itunes is unable to convert them. Is there any way of getting around this, because otherwise gettign an ipod would be pointless and i dont want to be any other mp3 player

The only way to 'get around' it would be to burn the files as *Audio CDs* (which would mean your few hundred songs --> a few dozen CDs), then re-import them as MP3 or AAC audio into iTunes.

Don't do it that way.
Download this:

and you will be able to convert

Yeah, you can't simply convert Protected files... that's the whole point of protection, and of this thread. :D
