"None of the items in this playlist can be burned to disc."

Please choose the appropriate forum for this topic. Thank you. I have the windows version of iTunes and have so far been able to burn songs just fine. Then all of a sudden I encountered this error message.

"None of the items in this playlist can be burned to disc."

Can anyone let me know what might be wrong?

It sounds like you're trying to burn an "MP3 CD" with AAC files. Change to "Data CD" to burn AAC as AAC files.

Or, you could be trying to burn your 8-th EXACT copy of a playlist containing iTunes Music Store songs.

Thank you for replying. I can rule out the 8th copy deal because none of the music is from the iTunes Music Store.

But as I said before, I haven't had any issues burning the previoue 3 or 4 cds until now. I haven't changed the type of CD i'm using, nor the type of songs I'm attempting to burn. I checked all my settings and everything seems to be correct. I've searched everywhere for this error message, and haven't had any luck.

Any more suggesitons?

Quite odd. I'm doing some reading on it at Apple Discussions.

What format are the songs in? What type of CD are you burning? Have you recently changed your music folder? Can you play the songs in iTunes? I'll get back to you. :D

EDIT: From my searches, there's only a few possibilities:
1) As I said before, attempting to burn AAC files to an MP3 CD.
2) As I said before, burning too many exact copies of iTMS files.
3) Plus, burning an iTMS song *before* playing it (thus before authorizing it).

I'm not saying your issue has anything to do with those 3 (as it obviously doesn't), but just that we have some sleuthing to do. :D

I'm not saying this is whats happening to you, it just stupidly happened to me. The songs weren't checked so make sure they are.

Best of luck.

Burning a disc in iTunes
Apple still hasn?t fixed the ?none of the items in this playlist can be burned to disc? problem. Apparently lots of people have that problem. So here again is the solution: Go into iTunes preferences (iTunes > Preferences on a Mac or Edit > Preferences on Windows). Select the ?Burning? tab and make sure ?Audio CD? is selected. Problem solved.
