iPod not displayed in iTunes source list

Hi All.
I changed the options of my iPod to manually manage songs and playlists and disconnected it.I want to change back this setting but my iPod is not being showed in the iTunes source list.

what should be done for my iTunes to detect my iPod.

Have you tried rebooting or restarting iTunes, re-attaching ipod etc.

Does it appear on your desktop?

Also, you may want to try resetting you iPod - hold 'menu' and 'play/pause' for 5-10 seconds.

if u had meant to remove the fire wire cable and insert it again,i'm sorry i did not understand u.Will reinstalling iTunes help
