Color Regrets?

Has anyone here bought an iPod mini only to realize there is a different color out there that you like better?

My friend bought a silver, but then she liked blue better the next week. I had to choose between blue or green... but I chose green. I'm not regretting it, but I did for like the first day.

Now that I've seen them in person, I like the blue and green slightly better than my gold one. Still happy with gold, though.

I wish I had a blue one instead of the silver one...but I wanted a mini so bad, that I took what I found. That gives me an excuse to get myself a blue one and give my wife the silver one.

I really wanted pink, but opted for silver instead because it was in stock when I was shopping for one...

I got silver. People might think that's boring, but I think its pretty damn sweet. No regrets here.

I ordered a silver, and I like it, but I kinda do like the blue or green.

None of the mini colors look "girly" IMO

Dont worry about wishing you got a different color, alot of people get a bit of buyers remorse.. just play with your mini and you'll be happy no matter what the color is.

I agree, none of the colors are girly. I actually like all of the colors, but don't want to buy that much minis :)

Nope, not at all.
I wanted a green one from the very beginning, and that's what I bought. I don't think I can stand not having a green mini now. ;)

Girly? What a funny culture we live in to worry about such things. It's a light metallic blue, almost sky blue in some lights. Get it if it suits your tastes, but you'll make yourself crazy if you worry about what others think.

I mentioned in another thread that J&R Music World sent me the blue instead of the silver I had ordered. I thought about rejecting it summarily and waiting for a silver or green which were my two favorites. But the color is really growing on me and I can definitely see why Apple picked it.

I have no regrets on my color choice. It was between blue and green and I chose blue and I am very happy with it. The other colors are nice but I love my blue iPod. Every iPod mini is great though! Apple did a great job.

I love my blue, and I'm very happy with it. If I had tons of money to spare, might get a green one too, because the color is just awesome and slightly more vibrant than the blue, but all of them are great. :D

On the website the Blue looks really deep, similar to the sonic blue skins iSkin make. But other photos, including some on the iPodLounge case reviews make it look more steely coloured...is it lighter than darker? It it was more steely light blue iw ould be v happy! (As i'm hoping to get one when they come out in the UK - even though i'm going tot be iPodless on holiday and that they'll probably come out when i'm on holiday so when i get back everywhere will be sold out ARGH!)

Yes, they are more steely blue then a dark sonic blue. It looks a deep blue with my sonic iskin, but naked it is more of a sky blue. One of my friends called it baby blue, though I wouldn't go that far, it isn't THAT light. But she really liked the color, and so do I. :)

I'm sorry but I can't say the ones pink aren't girly.

Personally, I love pink and no one's ever called me girly! I've got a fantastic pink dress shirt that I wear with a charcoal grey suit. A pink mini would be the perfect accessory for that look, I think.

That's not to say that I would walk into a biker bar with that, but I definitely think that a pink mini can be very masculine.

Of course, our styles all vary. That's why Apple's given us choices.

Pink just shows how masculine you are! If people think the pink mini is too girly for men then they obviously arn't masculine enough to carry it off ;)

Hmm, perhaps pink is a "metrosexual" color?

I'm kinda wishing I got a green one, but I'm semi-happy with my Silver. Might sell it for a green here soon though. Don't know for sure...I'm happy with the MINI in general though.

Any man secure in his own masculinity should be able to get a pink mini without being embarrassed... IMO

# 22 Re: Color Regrets?
Couldn't you consider all minis a bit metro? People are buying them mainly for the looks because the more cost effective option would be to go with the 15 GB, and they are all pastels XD. I still like em though, I'm getting blue, The place i ordered it from is supposed to be getting them in stock tommorrow. I think the gold is ugly, The pink isn't ugly, but i would never get it. I wear a lot of blue, so i got the blue...

Which color of mini is the darkest out of blue, gold and green?

I like the silver but would like one with a little color to be different.
I'm plenty masculine to pull off pink :), i just dont like the color
I like the way the other 3 look from what i've seen but i wear a lot of neutral dark colors and i dont want it to stand out too much. Is the gold like bling bling gold or a dark kaki gold? is the green a vibrant green or more of a low tone green? The blue is my third choice, i'm just affraid it may be too sky blue since i prefer a darker color.
anyways, is there anything some of you can compare the colors too that a part of everyday life? i've looked at plenty of stores and cant find any with demos to look at, and i havent had the time to drive an hour to the apple store to look at them. thanks.

# 24 Re: Color Regrets?
Now that you bring it to my attention, Apple gold IS somewhat of a metallic khaki color. I just held mine up against my khaki jacket, and it matches nearly perfectly with just a touch more yellow in the undertone. It is much lighter than a brass key.

According to another poster, the green is close to the VW bug green. It's fairly vibrant, like a green apple.

Remember, you can always skin it with a white, dark gray or black skin.

# 25 Re: Color Regrets?
thanks. i think i'm going to order the gold since i wear a lot of khaki pants and cargo shorts/pants. even though it seems that gold is not the most popular choice on the boards, i think i will be happies with it.
