A little PSP advice fellow Loungers...

So, as I mentioned in my earlier thread, I'm really lusting after a PSP, and I've stumbled upon what I think is a deal.

My buddy has a near mint original PSP, 512 MB Memory Card, and a copy of SOCOM that he's willing to sell me for $115, however it lacks a charger, but I can get one of those cheap.

However, the new Slim and Lite loads games faster, which is my only big worry.

I have to wait for another couple months to get the Slim and Lite, or, I can get the second-hand PSP this Friday after I get my paycheck.

So, if any of you use the PSP, or if you've read anything about it, is there any compelling reason for me to get the Slim over the Original?

And yes, I know for a fact that I want a PSP. I'm certain of it.

*edit* Okay, so, I've decided that I'm going to buy the Fat PSP and sell it once I get my Slim & Lite.

Thanks everyone, lol.

As an original PSP owner, I would have said wait for the new one and get a nice bundle.

I'm still going to get the nice bundle, but until I do, I'm going to have the old one to play and mod.

Just about the only thing the new one has going for it, it is, it is slightly thinner and lighter. The old one is SHINIER.

Id personally go with the old one if it is significantly cheaper. I've used both, as my nephew has a new one, mines an old one. And they are much of a muchness. And yes batteries and chargers for PSPs are dirt cheap, so the battery isn't an issue either.

Glad I went and got the old one. I made a Pandora's battery and put on a custom firmware and some emulators with completely legal ROMs and I've been jamming ever since, not to mention, I'm gonna pick up the 2200mAh extended life battery pack in a little while, so I'm quite happy with my little black box.
