Purchased Music Videos Plays Choppy

I purchased and downloaded Britney's Gimmie More video. It shows up in the left pane under Purchased but it plays 'choppy'. Also, isn't it supposed to show up somewhere else on the left pane besides Purchased? Under Libraries I have Music, Movies, TV Shows, Radio and Ringtones. Is this all I should have under Libraries? Actually, just now I realized my other 4 music videos plays choppy also. They played fine before. What could be causing this?

Welcome to iLounge.

Depending on your computer specs it may not play the videos well if you are taxing the processor. Have you purchased videos in the past? If you have otherwise had good videos, contact iTunes Store customer service with your complaint. How does it play on your iPod?

Music videos do not have their own section like TV Shows and Movies and are instead located with the rest of your music. So find it among Britney's other music in your library.

Normally choppy videos oocur if you're on a cheaper system, one with "integrated graphics" especially, but since that's not your case as they played well before it might have something to do with the iPod being plugged in, if it is. Some of the 160's react differenty with systems and bog down your processor, and if you don't have a seperate graphics card, having it plugged in might be what's causing the choppyness.

Also, see if that video is listed under music. For some reason there is no music videos section in iTunes, so anything labeled as music videos in its tag will go into the music folder.

Yea, it's listed under music. I just thought there was a separate Music Video section on the left pane that I deleted on accident or something.

I bought my HP pc about 3 months and it came with Vista preinstalled. I was told my graphics card is horrible. I have NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430. Could that be causing the problem?

I do have a descent pc. 500g of hard drive. 3g ram. viiv processor 2 quad processor Q6600. No, it's not great but it should play videos in itunes. I also heard that vista and itunes are compatible but to a degree.

That's actually a great system. Kind of what I would like to buy...

The video card seems pretty good too. Shader 3.0, DirectX 9.

There was a new driver for this chip released in Sept 2007: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_163.69.html

Maybe that would help.

I downloaded the new driver before but after I did that I noticed whenever I'm on a website with a lot of pics and I scroll, the pics flashes. It's really irritating. Not sure if there is some kind of fix for that. Maybe I'll try it again.

OK. I just downloaded the new driver and websites don't have that flicker effect which is good. It didn't fix the video problem in itunes though. But at least I have the latest driver on my pc. Thanks for your help.

Apple has a suggestion about SATA disks regarding Vista with choppy video playback. http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306526

I've only purchased one video, the Lisa Marie & Elvis Presley one they did for charity. It plays choppy on my notebook. I didn't bother complaining as I really only bought it for the donation, but still, nothing else is choppy, as in my own converted Videos.

I don't have NVIDIA, or Vista. I'm on XP Pro with Intel Mobile (not sure if that's a good one or not). I don't play games, so I don't really get into the whole graphics card side of things. I know I don't have the latest driver as I just had a new HDD installed, but I did have the latest driver before the new HDD, and it played choppy then too.

That could be an actual video issue then. Email iTunes Store support.

Now that would spoil my fun. Lisa Marie looks like she's on speed now. :D
