Clean install of itunes (windows)

ok i did everything but i still get this error the foler containing "iTunes Library.itl" cannot be found and its required. Create new itunes library.

and when i go into preferences it shows what my shared name from my previous install.

Interesting. So in doing the clean install you were still hoping to keep previous iTunes library information?

See if there is a previous iTunes library folder in the iTunes folder and see how recent of files are in there and try to use that as the .itl file...

You may need to go ahead and start iTunes with the shift button held down to create a clean library...

what exactly were you trying to achieve?

thanks for the quickly reply. I want to get rid of all previous libaries and start out completely fresh like i never installled itunes before.

I removed itunes,quicktime, software updater, and ipod from the add/remove plus i deleted those folder from program files. What else do u I need to do so itunes installs as if i never had it on my computer before.

If you went through apple's thing, I'm not sure why it's prompting for a library file.

Delete any library files from the iTunes folder with iTunes shut down, delete the xml as well and relaunch and it should launch okay. in Theory.
