Using a Nano in China

I am travelling to China next month and taking a Nano 3G to a friend for Christmas. Will they be able to download and use iTunes to sync their music? I assume they can't use the store, but there aren't any other restrictions correct? This friend is fairly computer savvy and uses a Sony laptop and desktop. Thanks!

They'll be able to download iTunes and everything, but there isn't a Chinese store.

Unless the government has Apple's website blocked for some reason, which I doubt, there won't be any difference.

There's a Hong Kong Apple site, anyway.

just buy the cheapest iTunes card make a new iTunes account and redeem the code. then give the user and pass to your friend and he will just tell you when you need to buy another card.
