Canal Phone recommendation
Hi, I was wondering if anybody could make recommendations for me for canal phone headphones based on a few pretty simple requirements:
1. That they hang straight down in the standard Y formation. None of the around the back of the neck asymmetrical style, or the looping over the ear business. I find those things to be too complicated.
2. They aren't known to have major defects, like the chord deteriorating or one side no longer working after 6 months.
3. That they don't require buying replacement parts somewhere down the line (filters, new foam heads, etc.) Basically, I just want to be able to use the original parts for the life of the product.
4. That, for the most part, people agree they sound better than the apple ear buds. I'm not an audiophile and don't have a strong preference or bias for highs/middles/lows/bass, etc.
5. That they are around, or less than, $100.
Thanks SO much for any help in advance. There seem to be so many options that it can be quite confusing.

I think the perfect phones that meet your criteria are the V-Moda vibes. I love, love, love mine. I upgraded to them a couple months ago from my Sony MDR-EX 51's and the difference is night and day. Read some reviews on their "sound accuracy issues" before you decide if they are right for you though. They come with 3 sizes of silicon plugs (2 sets of each size), the cord is a traditional Y shape, cable is nice and thick and they sound amazing. I found mine for considerably less than $100 on Amazon.
Good luck.

Based on those criteria, none GOOD canals phones are 4u.
Canal phones sound best when they are have a good seal, and that means for you to experiement with different "plugs," to try different fitting positions, blah-blah. The "plugs" will get ear-waxed and need to be replaced depending on usage, and their filters too.
They are not 4u.
