hey i own an ipod video 30gb and i got this message poppin up on it "Firewire not supported use usb cable to transfer songs" does this happen to any1 else n how do i fix it? and what might b the cause of this problem?:confused: :shake:

I assume you are receiving this message when you connect a firewire cable to your 5G iPod. Firewire is only supported for charging on the iPod video and later so no file transfer is available.

Confirmed. Firewire transfer is no longer supported. Charging only.
I know there was someone else who had this issue while not trying to connect a firewire cable and it was a loose connector internally that was causing the issue. I'll see if I can dig up the thread.

thanks 4 trying to help me n as 4 the dperson who commented 1st if anyone wants to know NO i'm not attaching a firewire cable it jus appears when i'm listening to music or using my ipod

You likely have a hardware issue, loose connector, or something.
You could attempt a software restore (make sure you music is backed up) and see if that fixes the problem, if not and you are under warrenty, I'd send it in. If it's not under warranty, you might be able to have a company like iResq look at it.
I can't find the thread I was referring too, but I know the person in question opened up his iPod and did some connector pushing to fix his issue...
