Would a future update fix battery issues?

I ask because my iPod does not get full battery life at all. I know a lot of people are having issues with overnight battery drain, and I haven't had that problem. But for instance, I charged my battery this morning and now it's already 50% gone. I don't know if I should take it back (I've already exchanged it once for other issues...I'm having major issues!) or wait and see if a firmware fixes this? Thanks!

Most likely, yes it will. I don't understand why some people have problems with the battery and some don't. My battery lasts up to four days, listening about 8 hours a day.

What you should do is let the thing run (without touching it) for 24 hours straight and see where the battery meter is...

My experience is that if you let it run without touching it, the battery will be a lot longer lasting, but if you even scroll menus or fast forward every song, then the battery will significantly decrease...

After my first battery drain though, the battery life is suffering from what it used to be... I use to mess with menus all day and it wouldn't budge on me, now it'll drain almost as fast as the clocks hands move...

Remember the battery meter is Approximate. It will show how much battery is left based on what is happening at the iPod at that exact moment. So if you are touching the iPod, backlight on, etc, the "approximation" may make the meter look like it is lower than it is.

I have had the iPod last up to three hours on the very last red sliver of battery life.

Run apple's battery test to best find out what your battery life truly is.
