The capacity of the harddrives, the metal faceplates, and the dimensions of the iPod itself.

It all depends on what you want as far as capacity size. The only other feature that comes to mind that the Classic has and the Video doesn't, is Coverflow.

No limitation of video out, able to play all the games on the iTunes Store, quick interface are a few things that are better than the classic.
If you can't fill the 80GB capacity then I think the iPod Video is the better iPod. Otherwise go with the classic if you need the 160gb.

The Ipod video has the ability to be modified (iMod). The classic has been confirmed that it won't be iMod capable ...

The older 5G and 5.5G iPods can be modded via Rockbox or other programs while the iPod classic line can't. The iPod classic also has limited video output in that it can only output video from its dock connector (on the bottom of the iPod, it is used for everything except listening to music through the headphone jack) and it requires that you purchase either Apple's universal dock, Apple's component video cables, or Apple's composite video cables. The cables cost about $50 (or maybe $40, I can't remember) and the dock is around $30. The older 5G/5.5G iPods could output video through their dock connector but also through their headphone jacks so you could go out to Best Buy and purchase a universal camcorder AV cable for $9.99 and it probably would have worked.
My suggestion is to purchase the 160GB iPod classic only if you need the space. Your current library size will have some merit on this but also try to think about the future. A good example of this is whenever I purchased my first iPod back in 2003, it was a 3G 40GB model. My library size was only about 6GB at the time but I still purchased the 40GB model. My library size then grew to about 31GB over the next year as I started collecting a lot of music. So even though you may not need the space now, you might find a need for it in the future. Just something to keep in mind.

i dont need alot of room, but i was thinking the classic because 80g classic is same price as 30g vid and i wanted to get movies mostly on it, and im still not sure i understand "limited video output"
and i dont plan on getting anything for it, just the ipod itself

All he's talking about is the ability to play videos on your TV, etc.
