iSkin Duo (sort of) Review
First of all, like most recent iSkin designs, this thing covers up every last inch of the iPod, with the exception of the hold switch. I like that, which is why I chose the Duo, but I was really hoping they stuck to something very similar to the Duo for the 2G Nano. This isn't the case.
First off, they don't offer one in a clear color. After seeing how obnoxiously bright the red color is on this case, I am beginning to wish a clear model was an option. I don't have pictures ready (yet) but this thing is so much brighter than my PRODUCT (RED) iPod, and, for me at least, I feel this gives it a cheap look.
The other issue was that this thing was friggin tough to put on! The rubber skin is simple and flexible, and that's no issue, but the front Visor requires the user to physically pry it up and push it over the side (unless I read the directions wrong, keep in mind, I may have). Once it's on it requires "massaging" to let the rubber slip into place.
In terms of protection, I don't have any issues. Every inch is covered and that's the reason I bought it. It's considerably thicker than the very thin nano, but that's to be expected.
So to keep things concise, I've gotta say I'm a tiny bit disappointed with this new iSkin. I used to have a bright green Evo3 and I really liked that design... easy to use, protective, and eye-pleasing. I also was a big fan of the Duo for the 2G, as it was sleek and also quite easy to put on. But this new iteration is very difficult to put on and doesn't look nearly as slick as its predecessors. It serves its purpose and protects the iPod, but I don't find it nearly as attractive as iSkin's other products.
That said... I'll work on getting some pictures up soon. :)
