Facebook ticketmaster group=Free iTunes Songs!

iPod touch fans forum (http://www.ipodtouchfans.com/forums/showthread.php?t=800) reports that if you join ticketmasters group on facebook you can get 5 free songs on iTunes. This works on the iTunes wifi music store. The cool part is you can keep making facebook accounts and it will keep giving you free songs. You can buy from the DRM free songs too, it all counts as one song! Here is a screenshot to prove it, I got 15 free songs so far.

THIS ONLY WORKS FOR U.S. USERS

Warning: You can only download individual songs, not albums.

I don't see any code or whatever that pops up so I can redeem it.
j5tar at 2007-11-15 17:20:40 >
# 15 Re: Facebook ticketmaster group=Free iTunes Songs!
1. Make an email account (I recommend gmail (gmail.com))
2. Make a facebook (facebook.com) account and use the email account you just created
3. Confirm the facebook account
4. Log into facebook and search (In facebook) "Ticketmaster Live"
6. Click on the first result that comes up
7. Join the facebook group by click "Join Now"
8. Open Up and log into iTunes
9. Go back to facebook and click "Redeem Code"
10. It automatically puts the credits in your itunes account
11. Buy songs

Hope this helps

Doesn't work. What browser are you using? Theres no "Redeem code" button on facebook.
j5tar at 2007-11-15 17:24:40 >
# 19 Re: Facebook ticketmaster group=Free iTunes Songs!
You dont actually have to hit redeem now. It shows your redeem code right below the redeem button. Just highlight it. Then open itunes and go to the itune store and hit redeem. Then just paste that code in their.

I have got 20 free songs so far.

For those with problems:
Create a facebook account if you dont already have one
After you create the account facebook will send you a email with a link you have to click on.
Click on the link in the email. You can now close out of the link that opened and the email
Go to: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=2426357824
Right there in the middle of the screen there is a picture talking about free songs
Click on join or redeem or whatever it says...cant exactly remember
Another thing will pop up asking you if you want to join ticketmaster. Hit join or yes
New page will come up that says redeem now. There will be a code underneath it.
Use that code to redeem your free downloads.

Its simple. I dont know why so many people are having problems.

DUDE.

The post was just misleading. If you read the Codes and conditions on the link, you will see that it states it is for the US only and no other country. So people like me in the UK are missing out again, hence the REDEEM CODE BUTTON is missing!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, that kind of sucks. Its really easy to do on the touch though. But if there is like 15 songs you are "paying" $15 dollars instead of $9.99. Also if there is any album only song you cannot get that. Still its really awesome, I have downloaded 105 songs so far, I am going to keep doing it.

GUYS i have something that will speed it up EVEN FASTER!!!!

www.temporaryinbox.com

This site basically creates a temporary email without have to fill out fields and register etc...

Go there, on the upper right hand corner, copy the entire line of random words and #s, thats your temporary email address, now use this to create a facebook account, then go back to temporaryinbox.com and paste the email you copied in the filed under "Check your inbox" on the upper right hand corner, this will take you into the inbox of that email. Remember wait about 4-5 seconds (because email is not instant) for your registration confirmation from facebook. Enjoy, im doing the whole process in less than 30 seconds, THATS 5 FREE SONGS EVERY 30 SECONDS!!!!

Yeah, something I thought of though was that usually for things like these, they buy a set limit of songs from Apple-as in they are already paid for. They could have gotten anywhere from 50,000-100,000 probably.

# 61 Re: Facebook ticketmaster group=Free iTunes Songs!
Everyone seems to find "loopholes" where they are able to go in and get a ton of songs for just a little bit of time and effort. When Pepsi did their song giveaways for two years after the Superbowl a lot of people said it was "cheating" to do the bottle tilt to find which caps were winners and which weren't. If Pepsi had really wanted to keep people from bottle tipping they would just have put a code on their cap, have you log onto their website and enter the code - winners would get an iTunes redemption code and the rest would say "Sorry - Try Again." What it came down to, Pepsi didn't care.

Last year Papermate had a promotion going where if you filled out a survey then they would give you 10 free songs from iTunes. They probably paid for an allotment of songs and had a certain number to give out. People found the "loophole" and figured that by using www.dodgeit.com (no longer available but same idea as www.temporaryinbox.com) they could go back and refill the survey over and over again to get lots of free songs. My guess is that Papermate was trying to do some market research and most likely it did them no good because a majority of their surveys ended up being randomly filled out. However, if Papermate had wanted to make sure it was just 10 free songs per iTunes account they would have had you send in the survey and they would have mailed you the code for your 10 free songs.

Now I don't really know what motivation Ticketmaster had other than possibly to gain the most people on Facebook in the shortest period of times. But I'm sure that they have to be smart enough to know that people have access to virtually unlimited numbers of e-mail addresses nowdays. So again, they have a situation where a majority of the people that signed up over the last few days are probably "phantom" people and although their facebook group is really high there are very few people that are utilizing their membership on their page.

When it all comes down to it I think that all these companies could work with Apple and say here is a group of codes and each iTunes account can have a maximum of 3 codes from this group. So when you signed up for a fourth time it would say "Sorry no longer elligible to use codes from the [whatever] promotion."

So anyone that says that those that take the time and opportunity to use the "loopholes" are cheaters and keep others from being able to do the same thing, I believe are just not very happy that some people get a couple hundred free songs while they just go for 5 or 10. It really comes down to they don't want to put the time and effort into getting more. For myself, I'll put in a little bit of time to get some songs and if Pepsi ever decides to do their promotion again I will bottle tip every time.

I read the terms and conditions it did state that the codes were not to be sold. Therefore, whoever was selling them was in violation of the terms and agreements by accepting the codes in the first place.
