iTunes lagging unbelivably...

I just got a new 160GB iPod (my first) and am using the new version of iTunes, everytime I do something on itunes it freezes for a minute. My computer isn't the problem because I have 2.0ghz dual core and 1 GB of RAM, WINXP. Is there no solution to this?

Seems a lot of people with 160's are getting it, and freeze times differ quite a bit. Computer power seems to help some. I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo OC'd to 3.2GHz, 4 GB of RAM and two cooled SATA hard drives, and I'm still getting the lag (though for only about 6-8 seconds max).

Hopfully soon Apple corrects this. For some reason when you send stuff to your iPod ending the session after the last file is sent eats a ton of CPU power (notice when it freezes your CPU is maxed). For those affected, the better the cpu the shorter the freeze, but it's unacceptable regardless.
